Maioro Barton

Maioro Barton is of Maori and European Descent, and lives in Cambridge in the Waikato.  He is an outgoing person with a great sense of humour.

Maioro was born with spina bifida and uses a wheelchair.  He is currently a Waikato and New Zealand Men’s Squad Member for Wheelchair Basketball and has a Diploma in Sport, Recreation and Exercise Science from WINTEC in Hamilton.

Maioro also coordinates an after school programme, helping youth with disabilities get active and involved with sports.  Maioro has experience public speaking and has been interviewed on TV many times, mainly on Maori Television.
